Today America Says No in Roseburg

dont_tread_on_me-e1411142106975There are days when I am filled with sadness for the state of my nation. There are days when I am filled with frustration, anger, and yes sometimes even rage. The disgusting state of our government, seeking control and the enslavement of its citizens, sometimes makes me wonder if the fight is even winnable. For decades, better men and women than I have stood on liberty’s line and faced down those whose evil appetites want nothing but our freedom, and some days it seems like we are even further in the rabbit hole than ever.

Today is not one of those days.  Today I am filled with hope, because this morning patriots from across America will stand in a small town in the Pacific Northwest and say NO. What started as a small group of patriots standing up has gone viral, because we’ve had enough. Enough.

In the aftermath of a horrific event, that has taken lives forever and changed many more, the liberty that belongs to all of us is more at stake than ever. Nine souls were taken last week, by a coward whose name should be forgotten for all time.  Their families are devastated, filled with a loss that only others in their position can ever truly fathom.

To us, they are fellow Americans who deserve our love, our support, and our defense. To Obama, they are nothing but a quick stop and photo on the way to a party with Jamie Foxx, where attendance costs $10,000 per person. They are an easy poster child for his agenda of criminalizing gun owners and removing the one obstacle left between the federal government and their dream of total control. To Obama, their dead loved ones were an opportunity. To us, they were Americans.

Who Is (Really) Behind Student-Led Protests?

By : Macey France at Politichicks.com

Screen-Shot-2015-03-14-at-10.12.29-AMI’ve heard all kinds of things about teachers’ unions; the good, the bad, and the ugly. I’ve even written a couple pieces on how the 2 big teachers’ unions in the U.S. have made poor decisions and for the most part, to not represent the average teacher.

Lately I have seen a lot of news stories about high school students walking out and protesting the use of standardized tests. I’m all for this if it’s a protest thought of, planned by, and promoted among the students themselves.

Many sites will claim that the students need to walk out and protest these tests and not take them because the students are the ones, after all, who will be ideologically indoctrinated under them.

I find that statement, and statements like that, a little ironic. In many of the schools where the students hold protests there is a large union presence with teachers who discuss union issues and unfair treatment with their classes.

Feminists aborts her child because he’s a boy

baby-names-baby-in-towel_horizWhen I first read this article I was utterly speechless. The level of narcissism, arrogance and sheer evil that the woman in this article displays may make you lose your breakfast – it almost made me lose mine. There really is no other way to describe what “Lana” did to her child – she aborted him because he was a boy. Murdered him, because he was a boy – let that sink in and read the full article. – Beesha

“WHITELANDIA”: Portland Teachers Attend White Privilege

Once upon a time, Oregon was the land of Lewis and Clark, vast forests, and rugged individualists who revered America and her Constitution.

Decade by decade, especially since the 70’s, more and more environmental extremists and Progressives (aka Socialists) have been drawn to my fair state. Strangely, the beauty and majesty that drew them to Oregon, then became their idol.

Progressives have since warped Section 2 of the Oregon Constitution, “All men shall be secure in the Natural right, to worship Almighty God according to the dictates of their own consciences.” into worship of trees and spotted owls, or whatever was the cause du jour.

Once ensconced, with high concentrations in Multnomah County (Portland) and Lane County (Eugene), these Progressives began an all-out effort to dramatically and fundamentally change Oregon.

Week by week new news surfaces, more and more faces and tactics of the socialist war on a once traditional and patriotic (and economically thriving) state. The latest crusade being the “white privilege” accusations.

Salem, OR City Council Votes to Ban Smoking on Public Sidewalks

It appears that the Salem City Council believes it’s OK to harass and bully one group of people in order to appease another. On Monday evening the council voted 6-2 to ban smoking on the sidewalks and landscape strips in the public right-of-way adjacent to properties where smoking is prohibited. Councilors Brad Nanke and Bruce Rogers were the two no votes with Nanke making strong objections to the ban.

This ban will expand private property NO SMOKING ZONES to include the public sidewalks and landscape strips that are adjacent to Salem Hospital and Willamette University. The same sidewalks that smokers use and that they pay for with their tax dollars – how is it fair to prevent taxpaying citizens from engaging in a legal activity on property that they pay for? It’s not and with only two councilors voting no – one with a strong voice for freedom and liberty and the other for neighborhood concerns – the City of Salem has granted permission for a minority group to be bullied because they don’t approve of the legal activity they are engaged in.

Watch the testimony and discussion (1:34:43) and listen closely to how this issue was presented to the council and the words the proponents use to sell the concept of stripping law abiding citizens of their rights in the name of “cultural values.”

Common Sense, Common People…Common Core? Building The Machine

ABOUT THE FILM

“Building the Machine” introduces the public to the Common Core States Standards Initiative (CCSSI) and its effects on our children’s education. The documentary compiles interviews from leading educational experts, including members of the Common Core Validation Committee. Parents, officials, and the American public should be involved in this national decision regardless of their political persuasion.

WHAT IS THE COMMON CORE?

The Common Core is the largest systemic reform of American public education in recent history. What started as a collaboration between the National Governors Association and the Council of Chief State School Officers to reevaluate and nationalize America’s education standards has become one of the most controversial—and yet, unheard of—issues in the American public.

In 2010, 45 states adopted the Common Core, but according to a May 2013 Gallup Poll, 62% of Americans said they had never heard of the Common Core. Prominent groups and public figures have broken traditional party lines over the issue, leaving many wondering where they should stand.

President Obama in 2010: HealthCare.gov “Easy To Use”

From the White House Blog:

“It’s not every day that the President takes time out of his schedule to record a video about a website.  But that’s just what happened with HealthCare.gov, the new consumer-oriented website from the Department of Health and Human Services.  In the video, he shows how anyone can learn about new rights and benefits available to them as a result of health reform law, and, for the first time ever, see all their insurance coverage options in one place.  Check it out:

Obama

Making useful, easy-to-use information available online is a priority for this Administration.  And putting power back into the hands of Americans is a primary focus for the President.  HealthCare.gov accomplishes both.  So, take a moment and check it out.

And don’t forget to leave your feedback in the yellow boxes throughout the site.  The team at HHS is reviewing them on a regular basis and it’s a great way to help make HealthCare.gov a better resource for all of us.”

Oregon Schools Chief Threatens Teachers Who Don’t Adhere to Common Core

Originally posted 10/14/13 by Victoria Taft at VictoriaTaft.com

It’s creepy enough knowing that the state wants to get a hold of your child in the womb and be responsible for them till college graduation.See the “All your kids belong to us” video here.

“P-20,” (birth till grad school) “We have this P through 20 initiative, and it makes sooo much sense to me. It isn’t that we’ve just removed some of the barriers but we make it easier for our children in the state really to move from birth all the way to graduate school.”

Now, as parent and activist Jason Schmidt discovers (see his YouTube Channel here), schools chief Rob Saxton will not tolerate anyone who does not conform to Common Core standards. After all, the program represents, “[E]verybody collectively pulling in the same direction.”

Oregon was one of early adopters of Common Core. It's usually at forefront of most fads.

Oregon was an early adopter of Common Core. The state usually is at the forefront of most fads.

An attempt to carry out anything that is not or to have any teacher in your school, to have any counselor, to have any person in that program not carrying out the plan as intended is completely unacceptable.

Saxton (not to be confused with former Republican gubernatorial candidate Ron Saxton) told administrators at a Common Core presentation,

Your job is to ensure that that [standards] is happening. If it is happening, I believe you will absolutely be successful. Especially if your plan is evidence based. But an attempt to carry out anything that is not or to have any teacher in your school, to have any counselor, to have any person in that program not carrying out the plan as intended is completely unacceptable.” [emph added]

And he gloats that the school plan basically shuts out oversight by the legislature,

The legislature does not have a choice to say ‘we’re not going to do this really well.’ And so, we kind of have them where we want ‘em at some point, but we also need to make sure that we convince them that our plans are correct and that they want to bring those funds to us, cuz they know that we’ll use them to very best effect.”

Democrat Voters Confused: “I Didn’t Realize I Would Be The One Who Was Going to Pay For It Personally”

October 8, 2013 by Mac Slavo | D.C. Clothesline

Dazed and ConfusedBack in 2008, when then-candidate Obama promised Joe the Plumber and the rest of America that he intended to spread the wealth around, most democrat and liberal voters embraced the notion of wealth redistribution under the guise of equality. A universal health care plan, that would be free for all Americans, was the promise from the candidate of hope and change.

Tens of millions of Americans jumped on the bandwagon waving their flags, fainting at his appearances, and fawning over his every word.

None ever thought about where the money would come from for all this new found wealth he promised to bestow upon them.

But those who understand that socialism, communism and governance by the collective are failed experiments, warned where that money would come from. It would be taken by force from the toils of the middle class, and it’d impoverish them in the process.

Now the myrmidons who once vehemently supported the policies of President Barack Obama without question are coming to the realization that when Obama spoke about spreading the wealth he actually meant their wealth too!

Cindy Vinson is one such supporter. This month, like many Americans who have health insurance through their employer or private insurers, Vinson got an unwanted awakening to the reality of government sponsored wealth confiscation and redistribution:

Cindy Vinson and Tom Waschura are big believers in the Affordable Care Act. They vote independent and are proud to say they helped elect and re-elect President Barack Obama.

Yet, like many other Bay Area residents who pay for their own medical insurancethey were floored last week when they opened their bills: Their policies were being replaced with pricier plans that conform to all the requirements of the new health care law.

Vinson, of San Jose, will pay $1,800 more a year for an individual policy, while Waschura, of Portola Valley, will cough up almost $10,000 more for insurance for his family of four.

“I was laughing at Boehner — until the mail came today,” Waschura said, referring to House Speaker John Boehner, who is leading the Republican charge to defund Obamacare.

“I really don’t like the Republican tactics, but at least now I can understand why they are so pissed about this. When you take $10,000 out of my family’s pocket each year, that’s otherwise disposable income or retirement savings that will not be going into our local economy.”

Both Vinson and Waschura have adjusted gross incomes greater than four times the federal poverty level — the cutoff for a tax credit. And while both said they anticipated their rates would go up, they didn’t realize they would rise so much.

“Of course, I want people to have health care,” Vinson said. “I just didn’t realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally.”

Common Core Truth: The Same Standards for Every Grade and Each State

Common Core Truth: The Same Standards for Every Grade and Each State (via http://www.thebrennerbrief.com)

Is the federal government telling educators WHAT and HOW to teach or do they simply want uniform standards for all grade levels across all 50 states? Common Core truth continues to be scarce, as well as a source of frustration and confusion for many…
